The TESLA Terrorist (Not Musk)

Lets call the act what it was. Terrorism. While in one part of the Tesla Terrorists manifesto states he did it as a wakeup call and not as an act of Terror, this is contradicted in the other part of his manifesto.

“Fellow Service members, Veterans, and all Americans, TIME TO WAKE UP! We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves. Military and vets move on DC starting now. Militias facilitate and augment this activity. Occupy every major road along fed buildings and the campus of fed buildings by the hundreds of thousands. Lock the highways around down with semis right after everybody gets in. Hold until the purge is complete. Try peaceful means first, but be prepared to fight to get the Dems out of the fed government and military by any means necessary. They all must go and a hard reset must occur for our country to avoid collapse.

-MSG Matt Livelsberger 18Z, 10th Special Forces Group” 1,2

We are at a dangerous point in this country's history. While one side has undoubtedly done the bulk of the work to bring us here, the so-called "opposition" has also contributed. Political leaders across the spectrum have looked out for their own interests, sowing division through identity politics and stoking fear of one group or another.

As the country has been led astray, our real ire should be directed at the uber-wealthy elites who have continued to amass unimaginable wealth. The gap between the top 1% and the rest of us has grown ever wider. And yet, our brothers and sisters on the Right, who worship at the altar of Trump, fail to see that he and those he seeks to install in positions of power are part of the same class of people who have systematically plundered the nation's riches and hoarded them away from the rest of us.

This is what frustrates me the most. There were some valid points in the Tesla terrorist’s manifesto. He correctly identifies that this country is heading toward collapse, but not because of liberals, trans people, or immigrants. He even acknowledges the staggering wealth inequality. Yet, in the same breath, he advocates clinging to the puppets of corporate greed, like Trump and the foreign emerald magnate and his ilk. The cognitive dissonance is staggering.

What also worries me deeply is the call to purge the military and government of people with certain ideologies. Does no one see the danger in this? Such rhetoric is chilling, pointing to authoritarian tendencies that should alarm us all.

And where is the media in all of this? If it weren’t for Talking Points Memo publishing the entirety of the manifesto, we wouldn’t know how craven and unhinged this individual truly was. Why are so many media outlets abdicating their responsibility to inform the public? Their silence and selective reporting leave us vulnerable to misinformation and manipulation.

We must recognize the forces truly driving us toward collapse and resist being distracted by scapegoats and divisive rhetoric. Our collective future depends on it. But we CAN NOT fix this country with violence and purges of our enemies. This sort of rhetoric should worry anyone with any sense of morality.
